DAY 02 - Tarangire National Park
Following an early breakfast, we embark on our journey to Tarangire National Park. Named after the Tarangire River that meanders through it, this park is often referred to as the 'river of warthogs' and serves as the primary source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. The park's vegetation varies, encompassing dense areas of elephant grass and acacia woodlands. Tarangire is renowned for its elephant families, often seen congregating by the river. Your safari may also grant you sightings of giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and a range of predators, including lions and leopards. Tarangire National Park is also a birdwatcher's paradise, hosting more breeding species of birds than any other location on the planet. After Lunch and an extensive game drive, we head to the Ngorongoro highlands, arriving late in the afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay at your chosen lodge.
Accommodation: Eileen’s Trees Inn | Bed & Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 03 - Central Serengeti National Park
Early in the morning, we embark on a Balloon Safari, followed by a delightful breakfast. Afterward, we drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, en route to Serengeti National Park, enjoying game viewing along the way. Serengeti National Park is globally renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and scientific significance. It is home to over a million wildebeests and approximately 185,000 zebras that migrate south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains in October and November. They then return northward after the long rains in April, May, and June. This migration is driven by an ancient instinct that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can deter. Serengeti is truly the realm of the legendary Great Wildebeest Migration, attracting safari enthusiasts and featuring in many National Geographic documentaries. You will arrive at Embalakai Tented Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Embalakai Camp | Bed & Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 04 & 05 - Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we make our way directly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, which is almost 600 meters deep. Upon your first glimpse of Ngorongoro Crater, it appears as a forgotten world, concealed by steep volcanic walls. Within this dormant volcano, a pristine wilderness unfolds, comprising sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps. The Crater was formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago. It is celebrated for both its geological wonders and its status as a natural reserve, housing some of the densest populations of large mammals on the entire African continent. The descent into the Crater itself is an adventure, and once on the Crater floor, you will find yourself amidst herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and more than 500 bird species. The Crater offers you the best opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino, which occasionally roams the open grasslands. After Lunch and an extensive game drive inside the crater, we head to our luxurious partner lodges for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge | Bed & Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 06 - North Serengeti National Park
The northern region of the Serengeti is a vast, pristine area characterized by rolling hills, open grassy plains, and prominent granite outcrops. The Northern Serengeti is an escape from the crowds and is wedged between the Central Serengeti and Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve to the north. It remains remote and relatively inaccessible, resulting in fewer visitors. Travelers who venture to this corner of the Serengeti are rewarded with stunning landscapes featuring green rolling hills, granite outcrops, acacia woodlands scattered across open savannas, and an abundance of wildlife. Most importantly, it's a prime location for witnessing the massive herds of wildebeests and zebras making the perilous crossing of the crocodile-infested Mara River during the Great Migration in June and July, as well as September, October, and November. Enjoy your meals and overnight stay at your carefully selected accommodation.
Accommodation: Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp | Bed & Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 07 - Ngorongoro Crater To Arusha
Early in the morning after breakfast, we set off for Ngorongoro Crater. As you lay eyes on the Crater, you'll be transported to a forgotten world, hidden behind steep volcanic walls. Within this natural wonderland lies vast savannahs, pockets of acacia woodland, and sparkling lakes and swamps. The Crater was born when a colossal volcano erupted and imploded upon itself two to three million years ago. It's renowned for both its geological marvels and its status as a natural. After the game drive, we head back to Arusha, marking the end of our adventure.
